Newbie in Real Estate
Hi im new to Real Estate and have No Experience at all. I live in Little Rock, Arkansas. I thought about real estate about 3 years ago but wasnt really focused and talked myself out of it. It hasnt left my mind and now i know I want to do it. Like most Im reading books (rich dad poor dad, investing in duplexes, triplexes and quads, the ultimate guide to real estate investing, Brandon turner books, etc) i listen to podcasts like BP, rental rookie podcast, Best real estate investing advice ever etc. I just started going to the Real Estate meetings last month and will be attending the one for this thursday as well. I want to get my foot in the door by house hacking bc i feel it would be good for a newbie like me to get hands on experience with a lot of things since i would be living there and having that experience under my belt would help me if i chose to move to another state which i do in the future. I have 2 jobs ( 3 if you include my 4 year old) so i wont really have to depend on the cash flow. Ive read most people get multi families and sell within a few years but i plan to keep them as long as I can. I would like to start with a 4-plex and work my way up. But I dont have the funds to start so im currently saving money, learning by reading books, going to meeting, and podcasts.
So my question is, How can i find a mentor if I have nothing to bring to the table? Ive thought about considering Wholesaling to try to help out with my down payment but I wouldnt want to fail in that. I feel like im just missing something. I could read forever but I still have to make that first step. If anyone can give me any advice that would be great, Thanks
