Aspiring Investor from Medfield, MA hungry to learn REI

Hello,

My name is Zach Berwaldt. I went to a REI seminar provided by Fortune Builders about a month ago, because investing has always been something I've wanted to do but never knew how to start. While I was there, I met, all around good dude, @Marquis Harris who told me about Bigger Pockets. I accelerate slowly that's why I waited until now to say hello, but it is because of his recommendation that I joined.

A bit about myself:

I have lived in Massachusetts my whole life, I work in Boston as an animator for a research group at Northeastern University. My goals in Real Estate are pretty broad at the moment, I want security in the long term for myself and my family and Real Estate is one of the more accessible ways to be able to do that, so far that I've found. Primarily, I am interested in Rehabbing but would also like to build a portfolio of rental properties for passive income. At some point I would like to start doing Investing in North Carolina, but I'm not there, I'm here and therefore I feel this is the best place to start learning.

I am hoping to go to REIA meeting here in Boston, but that isn't until next month. In the mean time, I'll be reading, learning and interacting here on Bigger Pockets.

I am glad I joined. I am hungry to learn and get started, and look forward to hearing back for people.

Thanks for reading my post!

Zach
