Rookie from Houston, TX

Hey everyone, About myself: My name is Gavin Snyder. I am originally from Ohio, the Youngstown area, but moved to Houston right after college for work. I currently work for an oil company offshore, so I'm on a two week on two week off schedule. I'm not sure if this schedule will help or hinder me, but I hope to find out. If I never find out then that means I never took action. My goals: I will take the next couple of months focusing on a niche of the market, I haven't decided what that will be yet, then before the year ends I will attempt to make some deals. A year after this point I will own 3 or more properties. Around 5 years I hope to own 15 or more properties. At this point I should be in a position to leave my job and start focusing on real estate full time. I would like to start flipping at this point. If you guys have any nuggets of insight on investing with a full time job, specifically the plan I lined out above let me know. I have been on the site for a few days now and there appears to be a massive amount of good information. I am starting from the bottom up and I think this will be a great source of information. I haven't been to any meet ups yet but I will for sure my next time off. I can't wait to start my journey and meet some great people along the way. Thanks, Gavin
