Aspiring Real Estate Investor from Lenoir, North Carolina
Hi, my name is Dylan Gragg, I am 22 years of age and currently living in Lenoir, North Carolina. I am a Senior at Appalachian State University and plan to graduate in the Spring of 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. After graduating (only 1 year left, woo!) I plan to carry out the family business of the Tree nursery that has been in my family for 3 generations. I believe that Real Estate Investing will be a way to have extra income and also will be able to play off the already established family business ( I will be able to do my own landscaping for basically free). I am interested in looking to invest in areas that are nearby to where I live such as Lenoir and Boone, North Carolina. Lenoir would be a better starting place as the Real Estate in that area are a lot cheaper than Boone, to which I plan to someday invest in. The reason for the drastic change is that Boone is like a class B when it comes to the grading scale and Lenoir is a class C. The university is constantly growing at a fast rate and the Real Estate located around the area is rather expensive (100k-350k), where as Lenoir's Real Estate is more feasible for a beginner (75k-150k). I won't be ready to invest in Real Estate until after my education is completed due to the fact that not only will my schedule will be packed, but my financial stand point will not be at its best. However, the reason for starting early is so that when the time comes, I will be ready and not just getting started. I am currently reading Brandon Turner's "The Book on Rental Property Investing" and I am completely blown away with all of the exuberant information that the book entails. I have learned an incredible amount and with every new piece of information I obtain, the more I can tell that I have very much to learn. Thank you for reading my post and if you have any questions or tips, please leave a reply!
