Green in SE Texas

Hello BiggerPockets, and thanks for the welcome!

I'm a relative greenhorn when it comes to REI, so you'll probably see my posts soon cluttering the forums in several different places. I'll do my best not to sound too much like a novice, but I'll probably stick out like a sore thumb with some of the questions I pose. The UBG was a very useful read, and I'm looking forward to flicking through the pages of the other guides as well. Soon enough, I plan on making my first actual investment (by design, as opposed to just renting out my wife's house to cover the note.) I'm also looking forward to connecting with the many other professionals here, and even contributing my experience working in civil and structural engineering whenever I have an answer.

Here's to opportunity!
