New Member from Columbus Ohio

Hi my name is Chelsea and I reside in Columbus, Ohio ..more specifically the downtown area. I have always had a desire to remodel or flip a home in this area with my father. Why him? Well, my dad has had 25 years in the HVAC business and continued as a General contractor building large homes along side Murfield Country Club, before 2008 hit, he then continued with restarunt/bar contruction, and some hotels, all while flipping bathrooms and kitchens as side projects with his long term girlfriend who is a professional interior designer. I've been raised to teach myself to fix before paying someone else to do it! I love my city and I believe that we can be sucessful at this new adventure. The construction aspect does not scare either one of us as I've already gotten the full promise that any days off would be to help with construction of my purchase. What we both agree to be our weakest attribute is finances. If my Dad could ....he would, however this will have to be me to finance the property. I have many questions... I'm almost overwhelmed. I'd like to buy close to downtown and need help with searching for loans? Are their grants the city might give to those who want to improve less than desirable areas? Should I look into an investor? I have been reading up on many postings but now I'm ready to put out my plan in hopes that someone out their can give me advice.
