Business Student in UK Uni in China from Jakarta, Indonesia
Hi everyone, my name is Maria and currently a final year undergraduate student pursuing a degree in finance, accounting, and management. My 2016 new year resolutions are to start planning and learning about real estate investment - thus after much Googling I found this website and decided to join.
Applying theories to practice have always been what I wanted to do. I am still a beginner in investment, but so far here is what has happened in my life:
- Since November 2015 I have invested my personal money on a partnership with my partner and I am fortunate enough that so far we have been break event every month.
- An associate from UK has offered me to be her partner in a start-up global online retail business in fashion. My role is to find aspiring designers and brands in Indonesia to be the suppliers for the UK-based online retail. The plan and fees have been drafted, just waiting to be executed.
However, those are business investment - which in my opinion are pretty risky and the future is quite uncertain. The partnership returned my capital because (1) my finance background and (2) my partner's experience in the field.
After watching Shark Tanks and reading investment blogs, I decided it would be a good idea to start thinking for real estate investment. If there is anything I learnt from the previous investment, knowledge is important. Real-estate investment is a capital-intensive investment. Knowing that, as a beginner there is much to learn. My goal is to learn the sales skills and market knowledge on properties.
Looking forward to learn something here!
