Hi-
I'm happy to have found this community as I can tell there is a wealth of information at my fingertips. I'm originally from Wisconsin but have made the Raleigh area my home.
My parents had rental property as I was growing up and we were always included in the tasks that we could manage.
I am currently a project manager in the pharma world and my husband has just recently started a business (animation and design). We are slowly trying to build up passive income opportunities as we hope to one day retire earlier than most people anticipate or at least have the option to do so.
I'm hoping to get better at evaluating different opportunities and to learn more about what types of strategies might work best for us.

@Emily C. Welcome to Bigger Pockets! My dad's side of the family is from Wisconsin; a little town called LaCrosse.
You and I were probably raised pretty similarly. My dad was always interested in real estate, and I wallpapered, tiled, painted, did yard work, etc, all before leaving junior high school.

@Dawn Brenengen - Small World! I grew up an hour south of LaCrosse in an even smaller town. I never mastered wallpaper unless I was tearing it off but yes, sounds familiar! Thanks for the Podcast advice; I have them in the queue for tomorrow!

Initially I began my investing career looking into fix and flips, then shifted my attention to the Notes side of the business. I found that area to be an excellent opportunity to create passive income and strong capital gains.
