New to BP and new to RE investing!

My wife and I have been learning about real estate investing.  As a newbie there is a LOT to learn, but we are serious about moving forward.  As I have heard comments like this from MANY people on the different BP podcasts episodes I have listened to....."The first step is hardest, but you have to start somewhere".  That being said, my wife and I are not sure where we should start!!

We have a sizable nest egg, but aren't sure where the wisest place to invest would be.  We have considered going solo on a fix and flip project just to get our feet wet.  I have also become more interested in the multi family units as a possible direction but would likely need investors to pull off something like that.  And since we don't have any experience in these areas, we aren't sure how best to move forward.

Would you advise starting with a fix and flip or gathering investors to go in together for a bigger multi family project?

I appreciate in advance any helpful advise......

Rick (from Marble Falls Texas)

Welcome to Bigger Pockets.

If you have any experience doing this, then move forward with a flip.  If you very new to this and have not setup a network of folks and licensed folks and never dealt with city inspectors, I would  strongly suggest you don't to the flip
