Senior Recruiter - Looking to work on his dreams.

Good Afternoon,

My name is Bryan Dyer. I'm a military veteran who is currently in a senior recruiter position for a tier-one company. My story is one of heartbreak and resilience - which, I'm sure resonates with all. I transitioned out of the service in 2007 - the VA didn't have any programs, except the GI Bill, which was awful at the time. I went to school full-time, worked in medicine (former medic) for 12$ an hour; while attending night-classes. I worked in this field and noticed that only the physicians made money, while we all struggled to make ends meet. During my junior year, I learned how to do neuro-diagnostic testing and created a small business that covered my life expenses, while I attended my classes. The Affordable Care Act decimated my business and in one fell swoop, I found out how quickly life could change.

I met a mentor / colleague at a veteran recruiting seminar and she hired me as a veteran career services coach and eventually recruiter. I met another person later on that connected me to agency (cold-calling) sales and I found out that I was amazing at it along with business intelligence - I did pretty well, but high-commission / low salary isn't a gig that is sustainable in the military recruiting field. I have been in the corporate recruiting world for a year now and see that corporate recruiting is a gig for those who want a 9-5 and aren't interested in being independently wealthy. I currently manage all the veterans in our pipelines (thousands) along with managing my own internal job as a recruiter. The pay is abysmal for the work and time I put into it and I'm ready to start my career in a new path.

I have been a member of Bigger Pockets for a month now and have truly enjoyed all of the podcasts and inspirational stories. I'm ready for a change and I know that there are three ways to find independence in this world. Build a million-dollar idea (rarity), inherit an estate, or build your own business. I'm ready to build my own business and I believe real estate is the way to go.

I'm an open Linkedin Member and look forward to speaking with anyone and everyone. Networking is the most powerful force in the universe.

Best Regards,

Bryan Dyer
