First time posting/long time listening

Hello all,

My name is Matt. i am 28 years old, and currently live in Rockville, MD. I am a long time listener to the BP Podcast, and a recent member of the BP network. My interest in Real Estate was sparked by a close friend of mine who began his own successful investment company, as well as a job opportunity that landed me a position in the property management side of a large investment company in Washington, DC. 

Currently I am the Rent Admin and Rent Control Manager for a large residential and mixed-use portfolio focused in DC, with several MD and VA properties as well. My wife and I were married last August, and have decided to move back to NJ, where both are families reside, to buy our first home. I hope to join another REI company in the NJ/NYC area as both my source of income and to continue educating myself on the industry. My long term goal is to begin building my own personal investment portfolio in NJ.

Outside of the Real Estate, my passion is music. I started playing the drums when I was 8, played in the school band (marching/jazz/etc/), and formed a rock band with my friends in High School. Before attending college, my friends and I were lucky enough to sign a record deal with a small label out in California. We spent 3 years  touring the country several times over and recorded to full length albums.  After 3 years of touring, and not much success building a strong a fan base, we made the decision to get our degrees. Though I sometimes wonder what could have been, going back and getting my education was one of the best decisions I made. Most importantly, it led me to find my new passion in Real Estate.
