Hello from Richmond, VA

Hey guys!

My name is Greg and I am a complete noob!!!! I am reading as much as I can though and trying to talk to all the right people to learn as much as I can as fast as possible!

A little about myself:

I am a 2004 graduate of Virginia Tech. I got my degree in History, took a year or so off and worked some pointless jobs, went back to graduate school for a semester and a half to get my teaching certificate, and dropped out to pursue a career as a professional poker player.

I have made a decent living playing poker and coaching poker for the past 1.5-2 years. I have been fortunate enough to be able to save up a "decent" amount of money during this time, and I am looking to learn some other methods of investment that are a bit more tax friendly. Filing taxes as a professional gambler is brutal.

Clearly, I am not afraid of what some may perceive to be "risk." I do my homework before I get into anything and I set and achieve reasonable goals. I am a self-motivated person and I am confident that I will be a happier person being my own boss and avoiding the dreaded 9-5.

My goal is to learn as much as I can right now, work on setting up a great team in my area to work with, and get started asap.

Any advice/encouragement is appreciated!!!!
