Hi Fellow Investors!

I stumbled upon this forum and think it's great. My name is Dawn and I seriously got back into real estate investing about a year ago when I decided I want to spend more time with my son, and real estate was the way to do that. I did a flip on Long Island with partners in 2002 before that.

Since getting back into it a year ago, I've bought 8 houses (total) in Birmingham, AL and Kansas City, MO that were in need of rehab. I am now holding these for cash flow purposes, and looking for more (once all of the houses are refinanced and finished).

I also became involved in large REO bulk portfolios deals starting in October 2007. It's been a rough ride weeding out the fake sellers, the liers, and the fake buyers. I now have a couple of solid sources, a list of intermediaries that I won't work with, and have a nice list of both smaller buyers and larger scale buyers. Due to the nature of the REO business, I look to set up relationships with people who are straightforward and honest like myself. Most people appreciate that approach, as do I.
