Hi All,

This is Lucky from Newton, MA. I am a full time employee with one of the financial companies in local area. That said, the field of Real Estate Investing (flip and buy-hold) have always interested me in exploring more and more. The glamor of real estate investing in media shows (especially flipping) makes it look very easy but I guess we all know that there is no free lunch. Listening to BP podcast confirmed my belief that RE investing and Management is hard work.

My goals in joining this community is to make myself more educated in this field and eventually look at good opportunities to invest in Real estate. I am risk averse to start with and I realize that risk-reward go hand in hand. This is great forum and I thank a gentleman I met during my last vacation for telling me about this great community.

Hi Lucky, welcome to BP.

This is a great place to learn. Make sure to listen to all the BP podcasts, read the articles on the main blog and be active in these forums to learn a ton very quickly about any topic in real estate you want to know more about.

This is also a great place to meet people that can be assets to your business. Lots of great connections all over but we also have a very strong and active contingent here in MA on here so make sure to find them (Set up some keyword alerts to find out about local topics) and get connected.

Besides doing that on here make sure to get out to some of the many local investor events we have.  You are lucky (terrible pun intended:) ) that you are very close to the best meeting around, the Black Diamond event in Waltham.  Besides that there is the Boston AREIA in Medford and many other options both north and south of the city.
