New to RE Investing in Seattle
I've lived in the Seattle area off and on since the early '90's. I have bought and sold a few personal homes over the years and have always thought about exploring the investing side of real estate. Things that have held me back in the past are thinking I need a big pile of cash to get started, that I'd never learn some secret code only the pros know and that it would be hard to compete because any good deal would always be scooped up before I could even do the math. Fortunately I found BP, a great community where I can learn from real doers. I hope to learn from you and help others, too, as I learn.
For over the past 20 years my day gig has been editing, producing and shooting for corporate and television. I'm also a photographer. For the most part it has been a great career but I feel it's time for me to start exploring this world of real estate investing and its financial potential.
I'm currently studying for my WA brokers license. I've read mixed opinions on getting licensed but it seems like in the big picture it could be useful.
My ultimate REI goals are to invest in multi-family properties for cash flow. Until then I want to fix-and-flip SFH, du/tri-plex's and condos.
My primary areas of focus in Seattle include Magnolia, Queen Anne, Ballard, Fremont, UW, Shoreline, etc.

Welcome fellow Seattleite! This is a great place to learn a ton of stuff for us newbies.
Those neighborhoods are great places to invest, but are also very hard to get into cause of the prices and competition. If you can find good deals though you could profit well for fix and flips.
