Hey BP! My name is Braden and like most others here I'm interested in using real estate to achieve my long-term goal of financial freedom.

I currently work in IT in Denver but have always been interested in Real Estate and have made the decision that I am going to make a run at this REI game and hopefully turn it into my day job. I'm starting real estate license classes in January to get my license and seriously pondering a switch in careers to being a real estate agent full-time(very scary for me to lose my current salary/benefits) to learn more about the industry while earning commissions. I think I want to start with either wholesaling or 1-2 rental units within the next year but I have a lot more research to do.

I'd love all of your opinions on this and any suggestions you may have.

Thanks and great to be here!

@Braden Hobbs keep your day job. Seriously, I mean that. Unless you are an exceptional salesman you will make more in 1 month in IT than 90% of active agents make in a year. You will make more in 1 year than 1% of all agents make in one year. Same goes for wholesalers, and rehabbers. Only the top 1% of any of those fields can touch your IT salary as an average IT worker.

Do real estate on the side and learn the ropes and you will be successful in RE much sooner. Denver is a very competitive market right now and it's better to have other means to make a living.
