Future Multi Millionare in Training Here
That sounds egotistical probably. It's not that I want to be a multi millionaire for the sake of having that level of wealth. I simply have goals that will require at least that level of income. I can't believe how expensive things are now days.
Any way having said that, I'm Barbara. My friends call me Barb. I'm on FB and linked in as Barbie Rede if any one wants to connect that way. Am 58, currently in SW Oklahoma. Not wanting to stay in this area since you cannot find a decent lake they allow you to sail in with in a reasonable drive. Logic says head to some place where blue water is available at least on an " I can sail to it" level. My personal long term goal is living the dream , on board my own 30' sail boat and doing my " thing" based on same boat. Houston is way to big for my taste, so CC area it is. It is also closest. I have not got a pic on my profile yet, since I really don't have any interest in that sort of thing. Since it is part of doing business , as soon as I can get one taken that does not break the camera or your monitor, LOL I will get one posted.
I have spent that last year reading every thing I can get my hands on and now I have found BP. Love this site for all the info I am seeing. WOW! It is really helping me tweak the systems I have been developing. Did a LOT of webinars from guru's trying to sell me their stuff when it was already available in books I could get for about .0001 % of what they wanted. I've noticed a pattern of the subject matter comes in waves. I also noticed they leave out a LOT of important stuff! That is simply not going to get it done for this boot strap operation, so I went with the books over giving some guy with bad reviews my money. Being broke did have the advantage of since i did not have the cash to waste on this type of thing so I had to find a cheaper solution. LOL It has also lead to me learning the pure shear value of open source, especially when it comes to landlord software. Sure I have to tweak it my self but it beats doing with out.
Now it is time to get boots on the ground as soon as I sell this house. Plan to do an owner occupied since having a roof over my own head is one of the needs, at least until I get things set up. I will no doubt be posting a lot of questions about doing business in Corpus Christi area. It seems my spread sheets put more questions on my mind then answers for all this stuff that needs local knowledge.
Have been reading the post on a lot. Trying to decide do I want to consider the various questions such as, partnering with someone, bird-dogging, mentoring etc. I have decided to not arbitrarily reject any thing that would accomplish my goals, although at present , lets face it no one knows me well enough to actually do any thing like that. Plans include joining rental associations etc once I get into the area so who knows I may see some of you later, when I get there. Once I get south I'm sure I will find places that are good deals but not fit my criteria. Not jumping on the first thing I see is going to be hard but..... Considering how incredibly careful I HAVE TO BE, especially on this first deal I can handle it. I'm figuring real estate and relationships have a LOT in common. The question boils down to is the bottom line worth the work involved?
Have a blog I started about the boat part of my life. It turned in the house blog. Since rehab is part of the RE life, what the heck. If any one is interested here's the link.

Glad I found this site and look forward to learning a lot and making some friends and business associates.
