Hi from San Diego, CA
Hi Everyone, I'm a beginner investor from San Diego, California. I'm an engineer by profession and I got started in real estate investing about 1.5 years ago. I'm a buy and hold investor and I currently have 3 cashflow rentals in las vegas & henderson, nv area.
I'm currently looking to expand my portfolio of rental properties at a rate of 1-3 properties/year. My long term goal is to turn my most of my active income into passive income.
I'm really excited to have found BP and its amazing to be a part of this community of smart investors and real estate professionals. There's so much knowledge here that it can be a little overwhelming at times! However as I read through these forums, it made me realize how little I knew and mistakes I could have avoided in the past had I found BP earlier.
I'm primarily interested in SFR and multi-family homes in areas that offer a middleground between good cashflow (8-11%) and appreciation/growth. I'm not interested in "ghetto" areas that offers high return and high headaches. From what I have read here, areas like Philadelphia, Chicago, Indianapolis, Houston, Las Vegas might be a good fit for me but I would love to hear and learn about the experiences of other investors in other areas!
Being an out of state investor with a "hands off" investment approach, I'm thinking that buying turnkeys might be a good solution for me. If you have any great experience with turnkey providers, I would love it if you can send some contacts & reference my way.
Looking forward to be a part of the BP community in the future!
Cheers,
- Clarence
