New member from Northern VA area

Hi everyone!

I have been reading the blogs and forum topics nonstop since I found this site and figured I would introduce myself.

I am an accountant in the Northern VA area looking to expand my knowledge of the real estate market and eventually get into investing (flipping, specifically). I am passionate about working in an idustry that allows me greater control of my career while at the same time directly influencing the lives of others (while, of course, making a comfortable living doing so!). I have scheduled to take a pre-licensing course in Arlington through Moseley/Keller Williams in July and plan to take the exam in August.

I know that 'book' knowledge will only take me so far and am looking for mentors around the Northern VA area who have been where I am right now - which is at step 0. I am willing to assist in any way I can whether it be on the evenings or weekends, helping out with anything I can get my hands on - paperwork, helping prepare for open houses, putting up signs, etc. in return for being able to observe, learn, and ask questions. They say that when you figure out what you want to do, or where you want to be, you have to surround yourself with people who are living your end goal and this is my first step. Looking forward to absorbing the knowledge made available here.
