Going FT into RE after a 15 Year Hospitality Exit
After nearly 15 years of owning and operating in the restaurant industry, I’ve officially made the leap and exited the business. The past 5 years brought major changes that made me rethink what I want for the next chapter—and real estate kept calling my name.
I currently own one rental (a triplex) and I’m now committing full time to building a real estate career. I’m fortunate to have a close friend and mentor who’s a full-time investor—he’s been incredibly generous with his time and is letting me shadow him at his office every day. His focus is mostly fix and flips, BRRRR, Section 8 rentals, and some wholesaling, so I’m getting exposed to a bit of everything to figure out what path feels right for me.
Before restaurants, I worked in engineering, so I’m extremely handy, detail-oriented, and comfortable with the technical side of renovations and project management.
Right now I’m here to learn, connect, and take action. If you’ve made a similar transition or have advice for someone getting started in this phase, I’d love to hear from you!
Looking forward to learning from all of you.

@Jordan Flescher If you were to build an SFR in either of those 2 areas, what would your build cost be?
