Non-real estate professional in Asheville NC late to the party!
I'm an accidental landlord and REI in Asheville, NC; very fortunate to acquire a great duplex in West Asheville for my foray into the REI space. I continue to pad my social security contributions full-time with the hopes of maximizing my retirement benefits. Although my wife is 'retired', neither of us will be real estate professionals. I've bounced around social media watching many videos, but decided to follow along the BP forums. I'm a very small fan of Dave Ramsey, so I'm not looking to mimic BRRR or FIRE, especially since I'm now 68 and perhaps a little late to the party.....cheers!

Quote from @Jonathan Bock:
@Frank Underwood Welcome to BP!
Enjoying my coffee from my Asheville made East Fork mug this morning.
Love or hate DR he exposes the reality of being a real estate speculator he was a house flipper who bought foreclosures.
Good morning! I'm real outlier- I don't like coffee or beer so no mugs on the cupboard!
I was conflicted on DR's adamant position against leveraged debt, however, having a degree in finance and economics I believed I had well balanced approach. I am at the tail end of my career and have enjoyed being totally debt free for the past 8 years. My primary residence is debt free as is my rental property-- the thought is the rental will supplement the retirement income and I'm not chasing ROI/ COCr / vacancies / etc.
Thanks for the welcome!
