Out of state investor interested in Raleigh area
Hi BiggerPockets Community!
I'm an out-of-state investor based in California with a keen interest in the Raleigh-Durham market. I’m excited to dive into this area for my next investment opportunities and would love to connect with like-minded investors who are familiar with the region.
I’m also looking to build out my local team, so I’m interested in connecting with real estate agents, contractors, property managers, and lenders who have experience in this market. If you're in the Raleigh-Durham area or have any recommendations, I’d love to hear from you!
Looking forward to learning from this community and finding some great connections!
Best,
Brian

Hi @Pat Lulewicz - I'm looking to purchase my first investment property in early 2025, with the goal of closing, rehabbing, and renting it out by summer 2025. My ideal property is a detached single-family distressed, 3/1 or 3/2 home in an A or B neighborhood with good schools, ideally in the $200K-$300K range. I plan to use the BRRRR strategy, financing initially with hard money and then refinancing after the rehab. I'm forming an LLC to purchase these investments and plan to use commercial or portfolio lending.
I’d like to avoid properties with HOAs, large multi-family units, or extensive renovation needs, and I’m primarily interested in properties with good appreciation potential. Positive cash flow is desired but that is not my primary goal. I'm in this for the long haul!
