Mexico City gal residing in NYC looking to invest in the USA

Posted

Hi there!

My name is Ari. I was born and raised in Mexico City and I’ve resided in NYC for over 11 years.

I own a couple of short-term rental properties in Mexico City. Since I still have all my connections and family and friends over there, it’s fairly easy to manage long distance from NY. But now I’m set to start my investment journey in the US, and as many of us know - NY is not the most affordable market.

I’m looking to start with a house hack and I’m open and willing to move to fairly anywhere in the US. If anyone has any recommendations of a good first-time buyer market, personal experiences, etc. Any suggestions are highly appreciated!

Likewise, if anyone has any questions about the investment market in Mexico City feel free to ask.

Happy investing everyone!

The disadvantage of living in NYC is that the prices of homes here are high.
The advantage is that our salary is higher than other areas.

I think you should consider to continue living in NYC and invest in out of state rentals.

The only exception would be, if you can work remote and keep your NYC salary, then I would consider a house-hack elsewhere.
