I stumbled upon this website's articles, blogs, and podcasts a week ago and since then have been trying to soak up as much information as I can.

I was browsing through the personal finance and real estate subreddits when I saw someone recommend this community as a place to gain knowledge, advice, and connections. I have been blown away by the support shown to each other here and I am looking forward to contributing as well!

I am a recent college grad working in the IT industry in Plano. I am here because I want to, first and foremost, invest in myself. I feel BP fosters an excellent environment for beginners and professionals alike, of which I am very much the former. With your help, hopefully I can gain some knowledge and wisdom about life in general, not just real estate investing. In due time, I hope to help others learn as I have learned.

This vision of this community really is a master class on how to be not just a smarter investor, but a better person in general. Thanks for being a part of this exciting time of my and so many other's lives.

Alex, welcome to the community! You sound like you are in a similar same boat as me. First of all, I also enjoy the personal finance and real estate subreddits. They usually have some pretty solid advice. I just graduated from Texas A&M and work in Plano too! I took your same approach by educating myself first. Keep it up. I now have a much greater understanding of real estate and some of the different strategies. My current goal is to begin getting hands on experience. One way to do that is by getting involved locally. There are several REIAs in the DFW area. Why don't you join us tomorrow night at the DFW Bigger Pockets meet up. It will be my first time attending.
