Nice to meet you-I'm Sean

I live in Chicago with my wife and two young kids.

When not with my family, I run a highly niche real estate fund. We buy single family homes in highly elite school districts, and then rent those homes on 3+ year leases. That's called Scholastic Capital

This strategy is a direct byproduct of my past corporate experience.

I worked for BCG post Wharton & ran my consulting firm for years. The vast majority of that work focused on competitive/strategic advantages within a private equity context.

Building my own consulting firm is a story for another day! But, I try to share that story as much as possible to help and encourage others to try to build their own business.

Scholastic is the continuation of my consulting work. Being in the "right" school district is an evergreen, competitive advantage that makes one house "better" for tenants than another

I'm on BP to learn and meet other people. I started posting on Twitter a few years ago, largely while bored at home during COVID

Since then, some of my best friends, my business partner, mentors, advisors, and investors have all come from this Twitter. I figured I'd try the same here on BP

We buy across 5 states (IL, IN, MI, MN, WI), typically the suburbs around the biggest cities in those states! We haven't come across the need for a contractor just yet, but I am sure we absolutely will need one soon :) I'd love to see if we could work together!
