Hi guys!

I just signed up for the site and figured I'd introduce myself. My name is Chris and I'm from Moline, IL. I started looking into the world of real estate investing back in 2008 when I worked as a real estate agent for one year. The housing crisis plus having my first child caused me to end my short-lived career as an agent. But I did walk away from the experience knowing a bit more about real estate and decided it was the long term investing strategy I wanted to use.

Since then, I have bought my first single family home and have successfully rented it out for about three years. My family and I have been traveling around the country (wife is a traveling nurse) and saving money to buy more property. By next summer, when we are looking to "settle down" we will have aprox. $50k saved.

My plan is to use that money to by a triplex or quad. Hopefully qualify for a low down payment FHA loan by living in one unit for a year. Then using the remaining money to buy a nicer, single family home for my family.

Then...hopefully two years later, use the cashflow from the triplex or quad to purchase another multifamily house. Rinse and repeat every two years or so.

Thanks for reading! I look forward to learning from and communicating with everyone!
