Hello BiggerPockets,

My name is Scott and just ran across this site a few weeks back. I must say I have enjoyed reading the articles and forums but I must be honest--don't understand much as I am completlty new to real estate.

Background on myself. I am former military, got out about 5 years ago and have been Government Contracting out of DC ever since until 1 year ago when I took an overseas position for a change of pace. Since being overseas I have done absolutely nothing with my money but stuff it away (monthly bills only add up to like 400 dollars). So after some thinking I kept asking myself what can I do with all of this lose cash--well what about real estate investment. Good Idea but being a person that has always rented and never even bought a home I of course got to do my research. So here I am.

Being overseas now and for the forseable future does put me in a weird position. One is that I am not stateside to look at properties or take care of them etc.. but it does allow for me to have a very large income and take some risk if I need to--but that is way later down the road.

I look forward to hearing from others that have some good advice or opportunities.

Take Care,

Scott
