HH and career advice for college student graduating this spring?

Patrick Butler
Posted

I am a college student at Umass Amherst studying Finance and I am an avid listener to the BP podcast. Once I graduate, I plan on house hacking my first property and I was wondering if anyone has any advice for me or something you wish you knew when you were getting started? Additionally, I am looking for an internship for this semester so if there are any mortgage lenders or developers near the Boston area or another city (remote) that are looking for an intern please message me and I will be excited to talk with you!

Congrats on your pending graduation and having these great plans ahead. Something that I’d like to advise people of your age if to establish credit and income to when you graduate you have the capacity to buy that househack to participate in other real estate endeavors. Without those fundamentals and lack experience it’ll take you another few years to get started.

There’s a few lenders here, I would engage with them to see if you can assist them with an internship and learn from them during your time in school.

Best of luck!
