Fix or demolish swimming pool?

Joe Huang
Posted

We are doing some remodeling before selling a house. We are having a hard time trying to decide whether to fix or demolish the swimming pool. Motor and filter do not function. The pool has been empty for a long time. There may be some cracks and leaks.

Is it better in this economy to fix the pool to attract less buyers who are looking for swimming pool or demolish it to attract more buyers who doesn't want swimming pool? Demolish decreases the value? Fix it increases the value?

I heard people are looking for pools because of covid.

House is in Anaheim, CA approximately 1300 Square Feet

Any suggestions?
