Why would a PM Push Rental Insurance ?

Jane H.
Posted

Our family found a nice place to get together. We live cross-country, are parents w/adult kids in medical fields. We are very COVID safe (N95’s, outdoor eating, distancing). I found the PM trying to convince me in several ways that I should pay for the Travel Interruption Insurance (cancelled flights, COVID, etc). Her insistence seemed like she would benefit (commission? Kick-back?). We have savings & worst case can afford the loss. One time we did buy Ins & they would not accommodate us. Is this typical for a short term vacation PM to be so pushy? Seems like it is like a used car sales approach. Appreciate advice. We’re comfortable taking the place, but wonder if this happens to others. Thanks.

People have different levels of risk tolerance @Jane H. Your host is giving you caution, in these uncertain times. Don't take it personally.
