With many Airbnb owners probably needing to off load a few properties. How would you connect and find those owners?

My two cents: Vacation Rental business/Airbnb STRs that are well managed as a business probably have a sound emergency plan and reserves that can sustain them of a few months. Yes, we will take a hit, but here on the Panhandle the tourists will return when the pandemic is over and the beaches re-open. Unless the situation drags on for over a year, I'm guess that the STR/Airbnb businesses that fail over a few months of no income are the ones that are already in overstretched financial situation. Before they get ready to "unload" they will stop paying HOAs (which will become liens on the property) which the new buyer will have to clear AND they will stop taking care of the property. Owners of nice, well-kept units are usually not looking to "unload" and even if they decide to sell they will want to get a decent price (again, unless they are overextended and have issues with the property).

On another note... No disrespect to some of the above suggestions BUT contacting someone via Airbnb to inquire into buying their property is rather in poor taste in my opinion and comes off unprofessional if not offensive. I would certainly be extremely irritated if I started getting messages like that via Airbnb and will report the user immediately. The purpose of the Airbnb platform is to find guest. This is like going to have your nails done and the technician offering to pull out a couple of teeth while you're there cuz she figures you may need some dental work, lol.

I actually think that here, on bigger pockets is a good platform to offer to purchase properties. Owners can contact you directly via a message. There are also real estate agents and wholesalers that have lists of properties. If you definitely want to find Airbnb owners, then go on Airbnb, try to figure out the address of the property you are interested in and mail an inquiry to that property or look up the owner's mailing address (that is possible here in Florida via public records) and mail them a professionally sounding and respectful inquiry into purchasing their property (preferably without the word "unload" in it, lol).

Good luck! I hope that you are able to get some good deals and help out some owners in need at the same time.
