Guest asking for a W9. Should I give it to him?

A guest staying at my AirBnB is saying his company requires him to get  W-9 from any rental he stays at. Will this be an issue for me come tax time?

AirBnB already reports my rental income from what I understand. If his company issues me a 1099, it seems like my income will be reported twice, and it will look like I got more than I actually did. The guest is threatening to cancel if I don't provide him with the W-9. Has anyone come across this before?

That doesn’t make sense because you’re not directly renting your property to that person. Airbnb is reselling your property, so the transaction is actually with Airbnb, IMO, not with you. You’re simply the supplier that delivers what Airbnb sold to the customer.
