Recommendation for sofa bed or sleeping sofa -- for a 1 BR STR
Hi, I'm converting a one bedroom apartment to an STR. I would like to offer a place to sleep in the living room but I'm not excited about the options I see for sofa beds or sleeping sofas. The sofa beds look like they have very thin mattresses and do not look like they would be comfortable. The Sleeping sofas look more comfortable but they don't look like the sizes match standard mattresses dimensions. I'm also I'm concerned that with sleeping sofas, users would have to put on (and take off) the bedding every day. Users may decide it's too much trouble and sleep directly on the couch leading to stains.
All options seem pretty expensive. What are others doing to add a sleeping space in common areas?
I'm shopping and ordering online given that my apartment is out of state and I'm flying in to set everything up. I won't have time to shop for things in person. Thanks.

Hey Randy - folding sleeper sofas almost by definition will have thin mattresses. You cannot fold a full size mattress. The choice is fairly binary between convertible sofas and thin mattress sleepers. In the 65 units we manage we have both. The choice is yours but I do recommend going with a commercial grade option. You can put a "bed in a bag" in a closet somewhere.
The only other possible option would be a Murphy bed. They do have some cool options nowadays, not like it used to be.
