STR in San Jose California

I have a fully furnished home I want to put on Air BnB. I understand there is a maximum of 180 days for STRs in San Jose, CA. If anyone has a STR here, can you share what you do to maximize revenue after it has been rented for 180 days? Or is it better just to do a MTR? Thank for any advice.

Hi @Wilson Lau - do you have any knowledge of STR demand in North San Jose zip codes specifically, for example Berryessa? Thank you.

@Priti Ag Airdna and Rabbu would probably give you more in-depth statistics about the demand. From my observation/experience, Berryessa and Piedmont Hills areas are more family-oriented, so the demand there is generally for primary residences, renters, or travelers visiting families. It is close to SJC but I see more of the STR demand gets drawn to the Santa Clara and nearby neighborhoods - simply because of the convenience. There are Valley Fair, Downtown, SAP Center, large corporates, etc. nearby. However, North SJ is not completely dead for STR. If you do a search on airbnb, you can see a few of larger homes (4 bedrooms+) are getting decent booking.

I'm also based in the Bay Area and have some metrics on STRs here. Need to keep in mind STR license / permit restrictions when evaluating.
