Expanding my property management business

Abdulla Sharaf
Posted

Hi everyone thank you for hopping in

briefly, I just wanted to depict how I entered the business of short-term/vacation rental. I am an ambitious retired network engineer who started that career after closing down my first business which was in the automobile industry، sooner later I developed an interest in investing in my property and other ones by using Airbnb.

it was a really funny story to begin but you know that after one year I would be managing 33 luxury apartments distributed across one of the fastest growing communities in my country. With the number of apartments increasing there was a huge necessity to use a platform that could better support my strategy and helps in organizing the workload. So I strive towards using Lodgify which is a standalone solution that hosts creating a web front, connectivity PMS Channel manager with seamless integration with air airbnb and booking.com.

although the platform is very useful we are now seeking towards expanding to a new platform that can onboard us with more rental platforms، based on my research I found a channel manager by a company called Rategain, unfortunately we cannot integrate it seamlessly so the solution would've been to use automation software (Zapier) that can bridge both platforms. In that regard Zapier offers an application called webhooks that has support with Lodgify, however there isn't for Rategain(Channel Manager). so I seeking towards finding ways to join both channel managers to benefit both of two worlds. The great thing about Lodgify is that it is tailored for vacation rental, and I heard other platforms that focus on B2B like Opera may not be as feasible as for us as our line of work consists of renting out properties in residential tourism districts.

Congratulations on your success Abdullah!

Curious - what methods did you use to acquire new clients in the management space? Were there channels that worked better for you than others?

Hi Braedon,

Thank you very much, to be honest, the place where I started the business is what boosted the portfolio but with hard work, commitment and focusing on great service toward customers and owners alike. if you do a great work, then people will spread the news among their group and they will call you.
