STR locations Upstate new york

Hello, i am new to real estate investing and am looking for sugguestions on STR for upstate NY and surrounding area. My goal, is tax saving with the STR loophole, but also some rental income. Any sugguestions please? we currently live in long island, and was thinking of upstate NY, as that would be a drive away, if we ever decide to convert the STR to our vacation home. Thanks in advance

A recent client of ours owns a home in Valley Stream and also has a STR in the Catskills (Napanoch). This started as a nice cabin getaway for the family and turned into a rental.

2.5 - 3.5 hr drive depending on where you're coming from and what time you're traveling.

You may also want to look into Tannersville, Warwick, Greenwood Lake.
