I have stated on BP many times that we do not work with Airbnb, and my stance is further confirmed by my latest experience with the company:

In April, we took over management of a large cabin near Gatlinburg that was listed on Airbnb at the time.  The new owner retained us to manage it.  The seller of the home contacted Airbnb, as we directed, to remove the cabin from Airbnb so that those guests would be cancelled and refunded.

Airbnb did in fact remove the property, but failed to contact existing reservations and cancel them, and refund guests.  We know this because twice now, families have tried to enter the cabin while guests of ours are staying - the latest occurring two days ago.

So...I called Airbnb this a.m. to see if they could get me phone numbers of reservations made through Airbnb so that at least WE could contact these guests.  Of course, they would not release that information.  So through their incompetence and/or laziness, Airbnb has ruined the vacation plans of who knows how many people, and they won't know it until they show up at the cabin! Of course, that puts our own guests in an uncomfortable situation.

Fine company.
