If you ask me, the most violent place of the 50 states. Stats are not officially collected because this is a tourist state. If there is no conviction, it didn't happen. Hawaii also has a severe homeless problem, btw. What's exceptional about this case is that the perps were from Ohio and Oregon, not Hawaii....Interestingly, I Just read another story (today's AP headline) of a family that moved from Phoenix and the husband was beaten to a pulp. A hate crime racially motivated against the  haole'  man from Phoenix. Now don't get me wrong, haole's (usually spoken "F'n haole") get clobbered daily in Hawaii. What's exceptional is this is the first time it's prosecuted as a hate crime.  50 years late, but Hawaii may be finally joining the rest of the country.  Sorry to sidetrack, but the place is not what it appears in magazines. Huge meth problem.
