Airbnb Algorithm: blocked dates, availability, etc.

Does anyone know specifically how the Airbnb algorithm treats blocked dates when ranking your listing? 

If you limit your availability to 3 months in advance instead of 6, will this be treated similarly?

I was in a closed session with Airbnb executives and open availability is one of the things that boosts you in the algorithm.  I wrote a blog post about it:
