Hello all you wise investors,

I want to let everyone know, like last year at this time, we WILL NOT have a December meeting because everyone is so busy with the Christmas season. We WILL resume in January and I will be posting on that later when it is closer to the January time.

If there are any changes you would like to see in next years meetings please let me know by emailing me either threw Meetup or to my private email. I will do my best to make adjustments and changes.

I wish each and everyone of you and your families a happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas.

 I will see all of you next year.

    ATTENTION ALL OLYMPIA REI INVESTORS:::

    WE ARE ON THE HUNT FOR A NEW PLACE TO HOLD OUR MEETINGS BECAUSE APPARENTLY RAMBLING JACKS IS CLOSING DOWN FOR GOOD.

    I have been trying to confirm our reservation for the last three days and finally I drove to Olympia today to meet with them since I could not get them to answer the phone.  What I seen in the window was FOR LEASE sign.  At approximately the same time I had an email from Curtis informing me of the closure.

    Thank you Curtis.

    I have not been able to come up with a new place yet so if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate knowing about it.  We have tried Hawks Prairie and they asked us to leave because we overwhelmed their kitchen with our orders instead of staffing for our meeting.  Izzies wants to limit the meeting to 45 min to 1 hour and the same for the Mayan.

    Please let me know your thoughts or your suggestions.  Thank you for your help.

    @Naomi Pinger Hi Naomi! I’m new to the BP community Burt and would love to attend your next meeting. Have you tried O’Blarney’s? I know they host morning networking meetings for Rotary clubs.

     I will check them out and see if we can work out something. I don't know if they may be too busy in the evenings to host our meeting for around 20 people that show up.

    You are most certainly welcome to attend and I thank you very much for your help I appreciate it.

    Tumwater may also offer some possibilities such as The Brick, Brewery City or Dirty Daves in Olympia. Really Im not obsessed with pizza, its just these locations just seem to traditionally have the dining space to cater to groups.

    @Naomi Pinger I doubt they’ll do evenings for us. The other groups that I’ve been to O’Blarneys with went early in the morning for a breakfast meeting, 7am if I remember correctly.

    @Derrick Nygaard your pizza obsession is strong :) Dirty Dave’s might be a great option. They have that room in the back they use for parties that I believe could accommodate 20.

    @Naomi Pinger I know the owners of Brewery City. Would you like me to check with them?

    Here’s a few thoughts:

    • Rockfish grill is downtown with good meeting space.
    • The Spar (not as private a space - can seat about 20)
    • Red lobster in Lacey
    • I think Tugboat Annie’s has space below the restaurant for groups.

    Thank thank you very much Curtis. I will check these out and see what I can get lined up. Every place I have called today has not had a private  room, it's always been part of the bar or the restaurant. The Tea Leaf does have a room but they want to close at 8.

    Did you ever hear why Ramblin Jacks closed?  Just wondering they always seem to have plenty of clientele.

    @Tim Lynch @Derrick Nygarrd

    Thank you for your input I really appreciate it. We were meeting at dirty Dave's however during the holiday season when are numbers dropped they went ahead and scheduled other people in the room and we showed up and there wasn't any place for us to meet. That is how this continual hunt for a place to have a meeting.that is also one of the reasons that we don't have a meeting in December is because everybody gets busy with their holiday plans.

    Brew City or the Brick either one would be fine. I did not know that they had meeting rooms. I would really like to find someplace that has an enclosed room because we tried the Ram and it was not enclosed which made it very noisy and I had a lot of people complain that they could not hear what was going on over the noise

    Thank you again for all your help I really do appreciate it.

    I think Mercato over by the farmer’s market has a private room!

    @Naomi Pinger - Thanks again for organizing! After a couple of years we'll have tried every venue in town. Well 80 has a back room that might be a good fit. It is a couple doors down from Ramblin Jack's. http://well80.com. The room is semi-enclosed - don't know if it would be too noisy or not, but when I've walked by it didn't seem as noisy as the Ram.

    @Wendy Carpenter & @Steve Abercrombie

    Thank you Wendy, I will add Mercado's to my list which I am compiling.

    Thank you for your input Steve, However I am finding out that we have not used all of the venues in town yet, thank goodness, and thanks to all of the wonderful input I'm getting from my members I'm putting together a list that I really hope that I don't have to use but I will have it in case there is a next time. With Ramblin Jack closing it caught me as off-guard as it did everybody else. There was no phone call, no email, no nothing until I parked in front of the restaurant and seen the for lease sign and read Curtis Bidwells email that I got at approximately at the same time.

    Again I thank you and everybody else for your input and I will add Well 80 to my list also.

    I should have a place lined up Wednesday and I will be posting as to where it will be and hopefully we can still get the third Tuesday of the month however that might also change. So stay tuned for page four, five, or six whichever it's going to be. LOL
