Tenant reported outlet not working in bathroom
Hello,
My tenant reported that his outlet in bathroom is not working, the cover looked chipped. Anything I can do to troubleshoot before calling an electrician? The gfi and the breakers don't look tripped. Appreciate your inputs.
Thanks

I would reset both the breaker and the gfci. Sometimes the breaker trips but doesn't look tripped. If it still doesn't work, then one or the other is probably bad.
I would use a tester to see if I had power to the outlet wires and then I would know if it was the breaker or outlet and then replace that. A good handyman could probably handle this in most cases.
