City Sewer Main Wrecks Duplex
A blockage in the city sewer main flooded our dupex's lower unit with two feet of sewage. Repairs will be extremely costly and take at the very least two months. We'll be losing rental income for that time period and some very good tenants. We're currently communicating with our home warranty people, our insurance agents, and the city itself and I'm not sure we'll be able to get any of these entities to help out with the repairs or to compensate the tenants on what they lost. We made the mistake of not switching our insurance from homeowner's to landlord insurance after we left. Has anybody had experience in a situation like this?
