What program do you recommend? Ideally, we'd like to respond to email and text messages in the same program.

If that's not possible, at least we want to send texts from our computer, so we have a record and an ongoing thread of the conversation on our computer, like we do with email.

Even better would be a program that lets us send, receive and reply to email, text and Facebook Messages.

Just sign up for a Google Voice number. You can get texting, phone, voice mail, email all through the same account. Multiple people can access the account at the same time. When we get a phone call or text, it shows up on my phone and my wife's phone at the same time. Whichever one of us is available can respond. They don't have integration to Facebook, but we have a shared Facebook account that uses the same Google Voice phone number and email.

@John Underwood text messages in Google Voice also come through as email messages if you pick that option. We use that to archive a copy of the discussion.
