EV Chargers in Rentals

Posted

Hi everyone,

I am brand new to the rental world and am currently saving up to buy my first rental.  I know there are a million steps before this question, but has anyone installed EV chargers at their rental properties?  I want to know because it seems the US is headed that way so I figured it would be a good thing to have moving forward.  If you have an EV charger installed, has it increased the marketability for your rental,  or produced greater returns?

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

I would be very clear with my wording to any tenant who wanted to have something installed in my home that I did not plan to install. They have to pay for it and leave it when they move out.

I had a charger in my last rental, because it was my primary residence first. No tenant ever used it.
