In need of CPA in CT
Hello everyone! In need of a CPA for tax season year in and year out from this point forward. Last year used H&R Block, definitely wouldn't use again with the second property for this year... Please if anyone has any recommended CPA's in the CT area, let me know!
@Jake Belden I highly recommend @Ted Lanzaro. He is based in Connecticut and does a great job.

@Michael Noto thank you Mike. Much appreciated for the help.
@Jake Belden also consider Marlene Jung. She’s a CPA with almost 30 years of experience, and an active real estate investor. I have not used her services, but she did a presentation for our group and had great tips for us. She is located in Avon, CT. (860) 677-6001

Jake,
Are you open to working with your accountant remotely? I recommend finding an accountant who specializes in real estate taxation over one that is local. You may want to consider working with your accountant remotely to expand your options.
I would also recommend looking for a tax strategist who is willing to work with you throughout the year, not just when preparing your tax return. You want an accountant that can help you strategize and who is responsive when you want to know the tax consequences of the decisions you are making throughout the year.
Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

Funny you just mentioned Ted, he was the guest speaker for the CTREIA monthly meeting last night and was really insightful. I scheduled an intro meeting with him on his website yesterday.

@Jake Belden
The issue with H&R Block is that normally you don't have an assigned professional to you and it is hard to reach out to a professional throughout the year. On top of that, the credentials for many of the staff is low.
You will likely see a better relationship when working with another firm. There are many CPA's on this message board to choose from.
Good luck to you in your search.
