Any Way to Automate Drip Irrigation for Texas?
So I’m not from Texas and never heard of watering the foundation before. I’ve been reading up on how to set up drip hoses for my duplex. While I’m living on one side of this duplex it won’t be a problem but is there a way to automate drip irrigation if I were to move out of state? I may move out of state in the near future but would like to hold onto this property without ruining the foundation. From what I understand the automated timers need WiFi. Would I need to require my tenants to connect the timer to their WiFi so I can control the watering from my phone when I move? Or is this a problem that a professional installer might be able to solve? I’m really at a loss here because I would like to hold onto this property for at least 10 years but not ruin the foundation if I don’t live in the state anymore. I’ve been wondering maybe Texas properties are just too high maintenance to have as an investment if I don’t live nearby. The soft soil, hard water and constant AC use by most Texans create a lot of maintenance issues.
