Burlington, NJ Landlord relationship?

Question

Hello,

I am curious to see if anyone has experience with the city of Burlington NJ. Are they landlord friendly? Anything different from other areas. I typically invest in PA but looking at some properties in the area and really curious what I could expect. I looked through their rental liscense and inspection checklists on the twp website and seems standard. Just curious of other peoples experiences for the inspection and also if you needed to evict a tenant?

@Matt Daley Hi! Burlington City and Burlimgton Township are very close in proximity but very different in terms of property cost, taxes, rents, etc. If you're referring to Burlington City, there are city/downtown parts and another side of Burlington City (across Route 130) that's more suburban. I believe you will have some rough patches in most cities and this is no different. It's a decent area for rentals because the rents are higher and Section 8 will probably pay more as well. There's also a waterfront in City, as well as lots of restaurants, bars, etc. And they are currently building waterfront condos as well. Let me know if you have anymore questions about the area. @Matt Daley Oh, sorry....I didn't really answer your question! I know people who invest in Township and they say they are sticklers with licensing and inspections. I could only imagine that City is the same.

Hi! I realize i'm 3 years late to the party, I was searching for investors in the area.  I am a RE agent in burlington co. NJ,  What the others said above is true regarding burlington city.  However, Browns Mills, is also in burlington co and is safe, not as much flood zoning, and is a wonderful town where I currently live that has good opportunity to find, flip and rent homes here where the values aren't astronomical and they actually cash flow.  Anyone in the area, let's connectSpencer

It's mainly a section 8 city.  Low home values, high crime, and most of the city is in a flood plain.
