Prospective Tenants & Emotional Support Animal

Would like to get some opinions.

Prospective tenants looked at my rental. Put in an application and indicated they wanted to move in on the 12th. Have 5.2x the rent. They have bad credit, haven't given previous landlord a 60 day notice (per the landlord) and lease is ending this month and asked how much pet fee is. Told the wife in front of me and Calculated it to be $50/mon for both pets and said ok then.

3 days later when i informed them their app was accepted, and going over prorated amounts, the tenant says we would like to move in on 23rd since the fees are high and "we have emotional support animals""did I forget to mention that? Sorry about that." Then I mentioned I would like to have something in writing that your not held liable from other landlord for additional 60 days. Asked if I would take his word on that.

I believe hes lying about the support animals especially since he didnt mention that upfront during showing. And zillow app doesnt require assistance animals to be listed.

Legally am I still required to rent to them even if i have other perspectives? Especially ones that meet my criterion.

What are your recommendations?

I'm in Indiana.

Give them 24 hours to get the letter from the current landlord that they are current on their rent and have given proper notice to vacate.  Tell them that if they do not provide the letter within 24 hours, you, unfortunately, will have to move on to the next candidate.  Be silent on the fake pets.
