Security Deposit Question

Chris Chase
Posted

Hi All, I'm in Colorado, have a tenant moving out of my SFH this week, have a hunch it's not going to be as clean as it was when they moved in. I plan on using some of their security deposit to hire cleaners, after getting a few quotes. Question is, is it legal in Colorado to pay myself to do the job? Present world events have left me with a lot of free time on my hands! Also considering hiring my out of work sister to do the job since she's hurting for money right now. My thoughts are having the quotes is going to prove the cost even if I don't use the company that quoted me. Thoughts/experiences?
