The Pre-Qualifying Questions
After reading Rental Property Investing, I’m setting up my processes and systems. With that being said, I'm working on my Pre-Qual questioning; my question is, can you ask if someone is a convicted felon, and is it legal?
What is the best (legal) way to ask?
I'm in East Central Illinois if that helps.
Thank you in advance.

I'm not so sure it would pass everywhere. But, you could probably just ask them, "Do you feel confident you would pass a background check that would result in you being qualified to be a tenant here?"
